Wedding Reception Table Plan
Not all wedding suppliers include a Table Plan in their portfolio. Because they cannot be mass produced many of the large scale print manufacturers simply do not consider a worthwhile addition. This is a shame because the Table Plan is one of the most impotant items required. Without a Table Plan your guests will be stepping on each toes as they wander between tables trying to find their seat.
Table Plans are often used in conjunction with Table Name Cards and Place Cards. The Table Plan tells the guest which table they are seated at, the Table Name Card helps your guest find that particular table in the reception room and the Place Card shows your guest which particular seat they should be sitting in.
Wedding suppliers often work with predefined templates when producing a Table Plan so it is not always possible to replicate whether you are having round or square tables or indeed the exact layout of the tables on your floor plan. This is when the addition of Table Name Cards becomes more important. Most wedding stationers can supply place cards but very few supply Table Plan cards so it is worth checking with your venue or florist in advance whether they can help you with this item.
Ask your stationer what the latest date they require your final list of guests for your Table Plan. Even the best organised wedding plans should allow a contingency for last minute alterations and your wedding stationer should realise that you are not always able to confirm your final list of names weeks before your wedding. On a similar account you do not want the Table Plan arriving on the morning of your wedding.
