Evening Invitations
The evening invitations are sent to guests you wish to invite to the evening reception or party, who may not be going to wedding reception itself. The evening invite can also be used to invite guests to a party following a wedding ceremony overseas.
A common mistake is to assume that you need one invitation per guest. This is of course not true and it is only necessary to send one invitation per household.
The evening invitation like the day invitation is a good way of communicating necessary or useful information to your guests. This can include a map or direction to your reception venue, details of your wedding gift lift, and perhaps even a copy of the menu or reception itineray.
It is usual to send your Wedding Invitations out 6-8 weeks before your wedding date but you may choose longer if your wedding falls during the busy summer months or over a bank holiday weekend. Remember to include the delivery time from your wedding stationery supplier. Delivery times can vary from 2 weeks to up to 10 weeks from different suppliers and times of the year. Many suppliers offer an express service for delivery with a specified time period. You will of course, pay a premium for this service which usually ranges between £30.00 - £100.00 per order depending on rthe supplier
Remember to include an RSVP address on your invitations, and/or telephone number and keep a list of replies so you can tick them off as your guests respond. You may like to specify an RSVP before date so that you get your responses back before in good time. This can be especially important if your venue wishes to confirm a final numbers of guests with you weeks before your wedding day. It is also important to have a detailed guest list if you intend to have a personalised Table Plan
